DOLS/BIA Assessor

Seven Social Care are looking for a Qualified DOLs/Best Interest Assessor to work with South Gloucestershire Council. This position is paying up to £339.77 per hour.
The Role:
Responsible for ascertaining that the person is 18 or older (the age assessment, now generally incorporated as part of the best interests assessment). Solely responsible for assessing whether there are any lawful decision-makers who object to what is proposed (the ‘no refusals’ assessment). Qualified as Approved Mental Health Professional under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended), Carry out the eligibility assessment, to decide whether this person’s rights should be protected by the use of the MHA or the MCA.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will have thorough knowledge of current MCA and DoLS legislation, case law and practice guidance.
- You will have excellent communication knowledge and skills with the ability to form positive professional relationships and work as part of a team.
- You will have the ability to keep appropriate records and to provide clear and reasoned reports in accordance with legal requirements and good practice, with the necessary skills to evaluate and analyse complex evidence and differing views.
- You will have significant post qualifying experience in adult social care or mental health with dealings of complex MCA and DoLS cases and working across partner organisations.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree approved by Social Work England.
- Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
- Compliance: Up to date SWE registration and DBS.
- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- Hours: 37 hours p/w.
