Families First Parenting Practitioner

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Families First Parenting Practitioner to work in Barry. This position is initially for a period of 9 months and is paying £16.47 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company). The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm.
The role:
To provide a direct service to children, young people and their families/ carers in line with current local and national legislation and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver positive parenting support, advice and programmes in partnership with parents/ carers and wider agencies
- Lead facilitator for parenting programmes, co-facilitating with internal colleagues, and with partner agencies
- Manage a case load of 1-1 targeted interventions which promote and support positive parenting, underpinned by an assessment/ Family Plan
- To undertake service user assessments including assessments of need and assessments or risk to inform case work planning, in line with service and national standards
- To work in partnership with external agencies in order to provide the best possible service for families, children and young people
- Using Motivational Interviewing and other recognised tools to engage mothers, fathers and carers to improve outcomes for their families
- To maintain accurate records in line with policy and procedures
- To provide information/ reports as required by your supervisor and/ or their line managers
- To attend and engage in a range of meetings and reviews
- To take responsibility for own continuous development
- Actively participate in professional supervision and appraisals in line with service policy
- Maintain a flexible approach to work in order to deliver services outside of core hours / on weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the service
- To assist the Senior Parenting Practitioner and other staff in the promotion of key Positive Parenting messages to professionals, agencies, networks and families
- Contributing to the development of the Team Plan and overall performance improvement of the team/ service
- Ensure compliance with the Council’s Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Policies and Procedures
- To implement the principles of the Council’s Equal Opportunity Policy whilst carrying out the above duties
- To adhere to Health and Safety legislation / relevant Council policies and procedures and to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be adversely affected by your acts / omissions.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable and not essential).
Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
Compliance: Current DBS check and references covering the last 5 years.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37 hours p/w.
