Family Support Manager

Seven resourcing are looking to fill a Family Support Manager role in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

This is a full-time temporary role and it is offering £24.66 p/h.

Job Summary:

To lead, manage, train and influence delivery of tailored and targeted early intervention and prevention services to families and children 0-25 years through a team of staff across a Family Centre locality, working in an integrated/multi agency way.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the early years workforce and advise on the development , coordination, implementation, evaluation and quality assurance of related projects, training, programmes and systems.
  • To lead delivery and commissioning of associated training and evidence based service delivery programmes, including related quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation and impact/outcome assessment systems
  • To provide professional supervision, coaching and mentoring to internal and external practitioners through a variety of mechanisms and across the sector to effectively address any quality or safeguarding concerns.
  • Provide written reports and presentations to strategic groups and elected members as appropriate. Development and implementation of relevant projects/programmes dealing with relevant problems.
  • To report any safeguarding incident or concerns immediately in line with Barnsley Safeguarding Children Board and Council policies and procedures and provide support in the capacity of Designated Safeguarding Lead and Duty Manager as appropriate
  • To develop and implement whole system change in partnership with service managers through agreed programmes, in order to support service re-design.
  • To take an active role in statutory inspection events in associated functions and services, supporting developments in response to changes to inspection frameworks and associated guidance
  • Support and advocate development of the service vision and strategy taking an active role in developing this through effective collaboration, interpretation for and engagement with key stakeholders and funding partners
  • Lead a partner agency best practice group to ensure effective moderation and consistent application of the family star tool and associated training, establishing coordinating and chairing relevant groups and meetings, facilitate and lead action learning sets, leading and advising.
  • Manage a substantial budget rigorously ensuring services are delivered in accordance with best value principles and financial regulations and income targets are met. This will include provision of monthly budget analysis reports outlining spend, variances and projected out turns
  • Build internal capacity to deliver appropriate and evidence based practice, providing support in interpretation of relevant statutory frameworks and guidance.
  • To ensure the outcome measures of associated projects and programmes are organically developed to provide sustainable method of evidencing effective assessment and impact of services success in meeting the needs of children and families and in partnership with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating impact and outcomes in relation to children and families you will use this alongside your specialist theoretical knowledge to ensure programmes continue to reflect children and families needs and legislative requirements, through appropriate consultation mechanisms.
  • Manage the co-ordination of communication with stakeholders, and service users through associated events.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualification: A level 6 in a related discipline.

Qualification enabling the teaching of adults

Experience: 

  • Substantial relevant post qualifying experience of working with children and families and multi agency partners to deliver integrated services which meet the identified needs of target groups and comply with national and local policy.
  • Considerable and proven experience of managing and directing staff and financial resources to meet targets and outcomes in a high pressured environment
  • Substantial experience of managing change in practice and leading staff across service boundaries through multiagency working, including directing and supporting.
  • Behaviour Change Approaches whilst motivating staff and colleagues at various levels

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and references.
