Family Support Worker

Seven Social Care is looking for a Family Support Worker to wor k as a key person with the Early Years children and their parents under the direction of the Senior Officer i/c Afghan Bridging Hotel Refugees.
Please note, this role is only for applicants within the UK, and to be considered you must have experience working within Family Support.
The role:
- To participate in providing a stimulating and caring environment in Stay and Play sessions where children’s developmental, enrichment and welfare needs can be met.
To provide good quality inclusive care, play and non-formal education opportunities for children 2 – 5 years (pre-school).
To contribute to the development of early years provision in bridging hotels as a model of good practice
To plan Stay and Play sessions for 0-5 year olds (pre-school) and their parents that offer an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building effective relationships with parents/carers and recognizing and supporting their needs.
To help to set up the indoor (and outdoor) environments for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session checking equipment for cleanliness and breakages
To work in partnership as a team with the LA Officer, Wraparound Provider and Hotel staff.
To advise the LA Officer and Wraparound Provider of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.
To ensure required training courses are up to date.
To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, which is acquired as part of the job.
To be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s operational policies and procedures, eg health and safety, fire precautions, registering attendance, food safety, cleanliness of the setting etc.
To assist with messages to families and with the preparation and presentation of notices and displays
Applicant Requirements:
Experience:
- Experience in Family Support, as well as with children and families in Early Years
Compliance: Right to work in the UK, and experience working in the UK
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37 hours p/w.
