Seven Resourcing is working with Nottinghamshire Council to recruit a Housing Commissioning Manager for their Strategy Commissioning Team.

Initial 4 month contract with the potential of extending
Housing Commissioning works with supported living extra care and home care, experienced commissioner – take us from traditional model of housing and help to work with district borough councils to help with homeless and work with ICB and ICF how we can influence the market and commissioners for the correct accommodation where needed – help to design this model and writing substantive post JD 3-6 months 500-600p/d TM position inside IR35, manages team of 5/6 max, 2 days in the office a week rest from home
Job Role:
The role is a commissioning manager within the Strategic Commissioning team. The team’s focus is changing to delivery of the housing pipeline for supported living or specialist accommodation, working with the Ageing Well Commissioning Manager, the Living Well Commissioning Manager and the Quality and Market Management team to determine need. There is a particular emphasis currently on managing voids as this has become a cost pressure to the department.
Recent work by the corporate director has strengthened links with the district and borough councils and we are in the middle of transforming the work of the team so that this becomes the central point of contact between health and housing stakeholders (public health, the ICB, district/borough/city/county councils) to facilitate integrated working. The district and borough teams have recently agreed to jointly fund a Housing Transformation Project officer post within the team.
The commissioning manager will need to:
– Manage the small team and help them to deliver their current work
– Lead the strategic transformation change activities across health, social care and housing for the county council
– Write the job description, in discussion with the Service Director and departmental colleagues, and the consultant in Public Health, for the substantive Commissioning Manager role
– Write any reports, highlight reports, exception reports, risk reports, etc. that are required to a high standard
This role will be inside IR35. Essential for this interim role:
1. Experienced manager with a background in commissioning adult accommodation services, particularly supported living;
2. Excellent understanding of public health around homelessness;
3. Good team builder
4. Able to work strategically to develop the partnership relationships required for the transformation of the service.
