Housing Options Advisor

Seven Social Care are currently recruiting for a Housing Options Advisor to start a new role in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

You will be relieving asylum seeker/refugee homelessness, making all the decisions & owing the duties within the HRA framework. 

This role is mainly working from home but expectation is that at least one day in office in Ellesmere Port.

This is an initial short term contract for 3 months to work solely with refugee and asylum seeker customers within the Housing Reduction Act 2017 framework.

The role:

To act as the first point of contact for advice, assistance and support to provide an efficient, friendly and responsive service to all customer and stakeholder enquiries either in person, by telephone, home visit, email or in writing.

To assess homelessness applications and make sound decisions, ensuring that the Council’s obligations under the Housing Act 1996, Part VII (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act are complied with and once assessed and investigated make decisions on the duties owed.

To review Personal Housing Plans with customers to ensure successful outcomes and.to prevent and relieve homelessness by exploring all options and utilizing ‘prevention tools’.

To work in partnership with the Council’s Contracted Support Provider to prevent and relieve homelessness, in particular ensuring that customers with support needs are referred for support.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: Must be experienced in HRA & giving housing advice and helping people find somewhere to live

Compliance: Right to Work in the UK, Enhanced DBS

Hours: 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday 

Travel: Full UK driving license and own vehicle
