Seven Social Care is looking for an Independent Living Brokerage and Support Officer to fill an exclusive opportunity in Barnsley.

The role:

As an Independent Living Brokerage and Support Officer, you will provide support planning and brokerage to Service Users and Carers across a range of funding streams, enabling them to explore, plan and access social, leisure, housing, learning and employment Opportunities. You will seek creative and innovative solutions to enable people to live independently in their own homes, and participate as active citizens within the communities of Barnsley.

Key Responsibilities of an Independent Living Brokerage and Support Officer:

      Be responsible for assisting Service Users and Carers in the development of a detailed support plan.

Provide advice and guidance relating to the different options of managing the Personal Budget, which are available to the Service User/Carer.

Liaise, Negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Staff, External providers, Personal Assistants and employment Law specialists.

Be responsible for leading and supporting Service Users/Carers with the recruitment of their own Personal Assistants, including selection/interview process.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: Level 3 or equivilant in a relevant area.

Experience: Significant experience of providing advice, support and guidance. Experience of researching, collating and analysing data.

Compliance: Up to date DBS.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
