Interim Technical Services Manager

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Technical Services Manager to work in Brentwood. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying from £23.96 – £26.19 per hour (PAYE and umbrella payment options are available).
The role:
An interim position to provide Technical knowledge, support and guidance to the existing repairs team.
You will be required to identify any gaps in knowledge within the team and work with them to develop existing and new policies and procedures for best practice.
You will be responsible for guiding the team through changes in relation to the White Paper and new Building Safety Bill
Key Responsibilities:
- To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives/targets.
To participate in Employee Development Scheme/Appraisals and contribute to the identification of your own and team development needs

To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 etc., the Council’s Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 ‘Duty of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder’.
To be Responsible person for all statutory and non-statutory compliance areas of Asbestos, Gas, Electric, Fire Safety, Water Hygiene, Construction and Design, Lifts and Retaining Walls.
To ensure our Repairs and Maintenance contractor is completing services and providing relevant certification within the timescales set out in the contract.
Responsible for ensuring all remedial works across all compliance areas are raised and completed accordingly.
To ensure that certification is stored electronically and for the required amount of time for each compliance area.
To assist the Contracts Manager to manage and analyse the contract KPI’s for Mechanical and Electrical and all compliance areas, including cost control and undertake regular quality inspections. This involves identifying trends, liaising with the contractor and taking remedial action in the event of service failure.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualifications: Educated to HNC or equivalent level.
- Experience: Full membership of RICS or CIOB or with equivalent experience (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Chartered Institute of Builders) is desirable.
- Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and references covering the last 3 years.
- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
