LAC Senior Social Worker

Seven Health & Social Care are seeking a dedicated and experienced LAC (Looked After Children) Senior Social Worker who is passionate about providing comprehensive social work services to a diverse set of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and monitor care plans for children and young people in the Looked After Children (LAC) system.
2. Engage in direct work with children, young people, and their families to assess and address their needs.
3. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide the best care and support for children and young people.
4. Advocate for children’s rights, ensuring their voices are heard and their welfare is prioritized.
5. Assist in coordinating services and resources to meet the needs of children and young people.
6. Undertake assessments of risk, need and capacity and develop consequent support and safety plans.
7. Maintain accurate records, provide reports as needed, and participate in case conferences and meetings.
8. Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development and implement evidence-based interventions as required.
9. Comply with all safeguarding procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people at all times.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
1. Relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
2. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
3. Significant post-qualifying experience, preferably in the field of LAC.
4. Proficient in conducting risk, needs and safety assessments.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Strong knowledge of children’s rights and safeguarding protocols.
7. Ability to manage high levels of stress and maintain professional boundaries.
8. High level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
