Leaving Care Personal Advisor

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Personal Advisor to work with the Leaving Care Team in Banbury. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £21.80 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).
To be responsible for providing flexible support and advice to young people and adults, 16 – 25 years, who are preparing and planning to leave care including throughout their transition to adulthood in accordance with the Leaving Care Act requirements.
To ensure that services are planned and delivered in a way which thinks about young people’s rights in relation to the services provided, acts on the view of children and young people and is able to demonstrate children’s rights are reflected in the way that the post holder, and his/her staff, work with children and young people.
- To act as a case manager and develop positive working relationships with young people 18 – 25 yrs. .
To encourage and empower young people to participate in all decision making processes affecting their lives and involve the peer consultation workers in this process when appropriate.
To be involved in understanding the young person’s needs and coordinate and participate in their needs assessment.
To develop, monitor and review the pathway plan to ensure needs are met.
To provide and access various information, advice, planning and preparation, and holistic support to meet young people’s developing needs, especially in health, housing and post 16 careers.
To ensure young people are aware of and receive their financial entitlements.
To liaise with other agencies, especially housing, EET, vulnerable adults and health services.
To coordinate the provision of services and take reasonable steps to ensure that the young person makes use of such services.
To keep informed of the young person’s progress and well being by monitoring their progress through regular contact with supporting agencies.
To keep in touch with the young person and take reasonable steps to re-establish contact if this is lost.
- Qualifications: N/A.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of working with young people up to 25 years within clear boundaries
- Compliance: Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years.
- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- Hours: 37 hours p/w.
