Property Project Manager
- Solihull, West Midlands
- £35 - £35 per hour
- Temporary / Full Time
Seven Resourcing is working with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to recruit for a Property Project Manager.
Pay is £33 – £35 per hour.
Job Purpose:
We require a Mechanical project manager to manage mechanical projects for a non housing property portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Property services provide reactive repairs, servicing, minor works and project works to a range of non-housing properties such as council offices, leisure buildings, libraries and schools. The planned projects are managed by myself and my colleague who is due to retire at the end of May. I have a building surveying background and she is a mechanical engineer. Most of the sites are based in Solihull although we do some work for other Academy trusts within the Midlands.
We work under an NEC3 contract and have an appointed M & E and Building partnering contractor. The M & E contract is currently being retendered under an NEC4 contract.
Due to difficulties recruiting a permanent replacement we have agreement to take on an agency worker for two years. Typical mechanical projects are boiler and pipework replacements, heat pumps, ventilation, water and gas mains. We also carry out alterations and extensions to schools. The council has a net zero carbon target of 2030 so experience of newer technologies is desired.
There is a mix of office and home working and flexible working hours to suit business needs.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualifications: Higher National Certificate in a Mechanical and/ or Electrical Discipline (or equivalent qualification))
Or the ability to demonstrate through extended relevant experience and training, the necessary knowledge to undertake the full range of duties of the post
- Experience: Experience of managing non domestic mechanical projects from inception to agreement of final account.
- Compliance: Up to date Passport and Drivers Licence.
- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- Hours: 37 hours p/w.
