Revenues Specialist

Seven Social Care is looking for a Revenues Specialist to work in the Worthing area.
The role:
Purpose of the role: To assist the Revenues & Recovery Team Leader in the supervision of the Revenues and Recovery Team, ensuring that Council Tax accounts are administered in accordance with prevailing legislation, litigation, guidance, best practice and local policy in order to maximise collection rates
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist and act for the Revenues & Recovery Team Leader in respect of coaching, training and day-to-day allocation and distribution of daily tasks for Revenues & Recovery Officers and to assist them with any queries they may have.
To assist the Revenues & Recovery Team Leader to monitor and meet all the applicable targets detailed in the Service’s Business Plan ensuring that calculations and assessments are checked and verified in compliance with local policies, best practice and audit requirements.
To assist the Revenues & Recovery Team Leader, Revenues & Benefits Operations Manager and Head of Resident Services by ensuring the prompt, efficient and fair resolution of complex Revenues and Recovery related customer enquiries (including complaints and enquiries from Councillors and Members of Parliament) requiring advanced technical knowledge, IT-user and communication skills, in accordance with prevailing legislation, best practice, and local policy.
To check, authorise or action both Revenues and Recovery reports. To monitor ongoing internal quality and monitoring sheets within the Revenues and Recovery Team, Contact Centre and Benefit teams via a spreadsheet which records errors for correction before providing feedback to the relevant persons. To quality control check work actioned by new members of staff during their training which we provide. To determine and collect Council Tax liabilities (including sole or main residency considerations) and entitlement to discounts, disregards and exemptions and encompassing penalties, fees and charges quickly and to a very high standard of accuracy, in accordance with prevailing legislation, litigation, guidance, best practice, local policy and office procedures
Applicant Requirements:
Experience:
- Up to date experience of academy, experience of using information at work. Ability to deal with billing and recovery
Hours: 37 hours p/w.
