Senior Residential Support Worker

Seven Resourcing is working with Alpha Imperial Children’s Services to recruit a Senior Residential Support Worker for their 3 bed home in Leicester. They are based in LE7 with their Head office in LE1. 

£13 – £13.50 per hour PAYE depending on experience

£45 – £50 per hour Sleep in depending on experience

Permanent role.

Job Purpose:

–    To provide a supportive, nurturing delivery of residential childcare in accordance with policies and procedures.  

–    To support the Registered Manager with the smooth running of the home. 

–    To lead by example and maintain good professional practices in accordance with the minimum standards for children’s homes.  

–    To help create a supportive and positive environment for each young people in reference to their safety, health and education.  

–    To act as a surrogate parent with professional boundaries. 


–    Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made. 

–    Contribute to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation. 

–    Contribute to the educational/social development of each y/p and assist in the implementation of IEP’s. 

–    Form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies. 

–    Meet the emotional and physical needs of our y/p and maximize opportunities for their development. 

–    Ensure that young people’s views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate. 

–    Ensure that good quality records are maintained as req’ with supervision and advice from Shift Mgrs. 

–    Maintain good professional practice in the home in accordance with National Standards. 

–    Undertake a ‘key worker’ role with young people as required. 

–    Ensure the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhere to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate. 

–    Cook and ensure that the young people are supplied with nutritious meals, meeting their cultural needs 

–    Dispense, record and administer medication as required. 

–    Inform colleagues of relevant developments and communications i.e., during handover. 

–    Maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism. 

–    Ensure high quality supervision of y/p, ensuring their individual’ safety and well-being is closely monitored. 

–    Support the Manager in the preparation, implementation, review and updating of Placement Plans and risk assessments and monitoring progression. 

–    Identify problems and service deficiencies by the continuous review of y/p’s needs and make recommendations for improvement. 

–    Inform colleagues of relevant developments and communications i.e., during handover. 

–    Maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism. 

–    Identify problems and service deficiencies by the continuous review of young people’s needs and make recommendations for improvement. 

–    Assist Managers in planning and preparing of team’s rotas to ensure sufficient cover at all times. 

–    Take responsibility of leading shifts under the direction of the Manager. 

–    Assist the Home Manager in financial budgeting.  

–    Ensure that equality and diversity is followed and encouraged. 

Applicant Requirements:


       L3 qualified Senior Residential Support Worker 

Experience:  Experience as a senior residential support worker

Compliance: Up to date Passport and enhanced DBS.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
