Senior Social Worker – Disabled Children’s Team

Seven Social Care are looking for a committed, dedicated, and highly skilled Senior Social Worker to join our Disabled Children’s Team based in Hammersmith. As an integral part of the team, you’ll use your knowledge and experience to help transform the lives of disabled children and their families.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of disabled children’s needs in accordance with the legislative framework, policy, and procedures.

2. Develop and deliver multiagency, holistic care plans aimed at meeting the assessed needs, improving the lives of disabled children and their families.

3. Provide comprehensive social work services to disabled children and families, including those in need of protection.

4. Assist in training and development initiatives for junior staff members and actively contribute to the supervision of less experienced social workers.

5. Work in close collaboration with colleagues and partnership agencies to provide a multidisciplinary approach to all stages of child development.

6. Organise and manage effectively the process of change, bearing in mind the effects on the child and the family.

7. Maintain accurate records and write reports, including assessments, child protection enquiries and care proceedings.

8. Maintain current knowledge of legislation applicable to child welfare and best practice guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

1. A degree in social work and a valid Social Work England registration.

2. Comprehensive experience working with disabled children.

3. Thorough understanding of the relevant legal and policy framework and professional regulations.

4. Demonstrable expertise in multi-professional assessments of children with complex needs.

5. Experience providing supervision to less experienced social workers.

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

7. Ability to manage and prioritise complex workloads.

Preferred Skills:

1. Knowledge of relevant child care legislation.

2. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

3. Experience in using IT and information systems to record social work data.

4. Demonstrable ability to effectively deal with stress and pressure.
