Social Worker – Child Protection Team

Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team in Devon. The successful candidate will work closely with children, young people, and their families to safeguard children from harm and promote their welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage a demanding caseload involving the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of appropriate action, contributing to the effective application of resources to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and their families.

2. Carry out thorough assessments of child/family circumstances, integrating information from other service units and agencies in order to determine action.

3. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for legal action in accordance with our policy, procedures and child protection legislation.

4. Present evidence in court regarding a child’s safety or welfare when necessary.

5. Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, parents and children to create care plans that best meet the children’s needs.

6. Assist with the training and development of less experienced social workers as required.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

1. Degree in Social Work or equivalent.

2. Must be a registered social worker with Social Work England.

3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in child protection services.

4. Proficient in both verbal and written communication.

5. Ability to make sound judgments under pressure.

6. A clear understanding and knowledge of UK child protection legislation and guidance.

7. Full UK Driving License and access to a car.

The successful applicant will be subjected to thorough background check processes, including Enhanced DBS checks.
