Social Worker – Permanence Team

Seven Social Care are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Permanence Team in Weymouth. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families while advancing your career in the field of social work.
Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the formulation of care plans to support children, young people, and their families, delivering services using an evidence-based model.
2. Safeguard children and ensure their safety and well-being is promoted and maintained at all times.
3. Contribute to assessments of need and risk for referred children/young people, ensuring that any safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly.
4. Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to ensure seamless service delivery for all clients.
5. Participate in, and occasionally lead, multi-agency meetings and case conferences to support service users.
6. Deputise for the Team Manager, as necessary, and supervise junior staff members.
7. Contribute to the ongoing development of the service through effective learning and development activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent) and have current registration with the Social Work England.
2. Demonstrable experience in child protection and child in need assessments.
3. Proficient in the use of IT and electronic record-keeping systems.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with children, families, and professional colleagues.
5. Strong understanding of legislation and guidance, particularly the Children’s Act 1989 and Evidence-Based Practice.
6. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
7. Proven ability to make sound decisions under pressure and handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
