Social Worker – Social Worker in Schools

Seven Social Care are seeking a qualified, empathetic, and dedicated School Social Worker for a full-time position in Wolverhampton, UK. The ideal candidate will provide a range of services to students, helping to create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment that will enhance students’ educational and social development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments, including psycho-social assessments, to identify students’ needs and concerns.
2. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to develop individualized plans that ensure students’ well-being.
3. Provide counseling and therapeutic services to students dealing with issues such as behavioral problems, mental health disorders, harmful substance use, and trauma.
4. Advise and guide students regarding their educational and career choices.
5. Advocate for and connect students and families to necessary resources both inside and outside of the school.
6. Coordinate with community providers, including mental health professionals and social services agencies, to ensure students receive comprehensive resources.
7. Develop and deliver educational presentations on relevant topics, such as bullying or substance misuse.
8. Assist in crisis situations such as child abuse cases or severe mental health problems.
Candidate Requirements:
1. A degree in Social Work and a professional qualification in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW, MSW).
2. Registration with the Social Work England (SWE).
3. At least 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
4. Experience in a school setting would be advantageous.
5. Proficiency in interventions with students who have social, emotional and behavioral challenges.
6. Excellent communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
7. Knowledge of local resources and the ability to constructively work with a variety of professionals.
