Support Officer Social Housing

Seven Social Care is looking for a Support Officer, to work within the Social Housing sector, with Elmbridge Borough Council.
The role:
Working in a busy, front-line local authority housing service, you will provide and support the activities of the Housing Options Unit specialising in social and supported housing. You will provide general advice and carry out administrative duties including indexing of correspondence, inputting into relevant case records and maintaining databases.
You will support the work of the Social and Supported Housing Team, ensuring that applications on our housing register are validated and verified in accordance with the Council’s Allocations Policy. To load or publish adverts on to Search Moves and to assist with shortlisting activities as directed. To band cases on the Housing Register and set auto bidding for applicants as necessary. To complete nominations for accommodation and to monitor to final outcome including dealing with refusals in accordance with policy.
Key Responsibilities:
The postholder will be expected to work the majority of the week in the council’s offices in Esher, but there may be scope for some working from home. We are looking for a candidate with experience in working in a front-line, customer-facing role, with good communication skills and who is well organised and an effective administrator. You will need to be IT literate, able to deal effectively with people with challenging behaviour and have access to a vehicle and be willing to undertake home visits to applicants.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualifications: Relevant Qualification desired
- Experience: Experience in the housing sector
- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- Hours: 37 hours p/w.
