Transition Support Worker

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for two Transition Support Workers to start a new role in Tameside.

We are looking for Transition Support Workers to join the team as part of the Staying Close project.

Staying Close is a pilot service offer to children who have left care and who have previously lived in children’s homes, designed to offer them practical, employment, emotional and social help in their lives as they exit care.

The aim of the programme is to ensure that each young person is equipped with skills to be able to live a successful and positive life, once they move into their own home. The support to the young people continues until the age of 21.

This is an interim role initially until March 2025 with the possibility of extension, paying £19.99 an hour.

The role will be office based for the first 3 weeks and after this the role will be hybrid.

Responsibilities:

• To work within statutory guidelines and the department’s procedures relating to young people leaving care, children in need, Cared for Children and asylum-seeking young people.
• To undertake direct work with young people and others who are relevant in their lives.
• Develop supportive and empowering relationships with young people to build their self- esteem, confidence, knowledge and resilience to enable them to move forward positively in their lives.
• Respond appropriately to any child protection/Adult at Risk concerns as and when they arise, following Safeguarding Policy and Procedures

Applicant Requirements:

• Experience: Working with Cared for Children and families
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, Care of Children and Young People/ Adult Social Care NNEB/B.TEC
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS, Right to Work in the UK
• Hours: 36 hours a week
• Travel: Full UK driving license (desirable)
