ScopeofTasksandResponsibilities

  • Responsible for operational strategy and activities
  • Accountable to the CEO

Role encompasses:

o    Keymemberof the strategic team

o    Development of operational team to drive operational strategy from preclinical drug development, through clinical development to product commercialization

o    Implementation of appropriate processes to ensure the successful execution of strategic priorities, under strong project management control

o    Direct overview of the study operations team, to ensure that the study is delivered in an efficient, safe and timely manner. This will require close team work with the CMO and medical team

o    Close interaction with the CSO to ensure that all study CMC deliverables are managed in a timely and efficient manner

o    Development of risk mitigation strategiesfor key operational tasks

o    Developmentof SOPs for key operational activities

o    Responsibleforoperationaldatabases

o    Ensure compliance to all legislative responsibilities in operational matters

Profile/CoreCompetencies

  • University graduate (preferably in Life Sciences) with qualification in business management (MBA would be a plus)
  • Background in project management, with proven ability to drive and execute complex programmes
  • At least 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry, with particular focus on programme management /managing clinical study operations
  • proven key responsibilities for pivotal multi center studies
  • A sound knowledge of GCP and regulatory requirements required to execute clinical trials
  • Extensive experience in building and managing operational teams in pharmaceutical companies. Previous experience in a biotech would be an advantage
  • Strong, proven leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work across a flat matrix environment. Strong skills in team working are essential
