Field Service Engineer / Technician

Due to continual growth my client is looking for a Field Service Engineer/Technician reporting to Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Customer Support Manager. This position would be working closely with various internal stakeholders; Clinical, Sales and Operation departments. You must have the ability to integrate, engage and collaborate within cross-functional teams to provide efficient service delivery to all customers.

Daily tasks would include onsite annual preventative maintenance at major public and private hospitals within the EMEA region. When not on the road, all repairs work are completed at the workshop. You may need to organise the supply of parts and materials required to undertake the completion of the assigned jobs. Ensuring a ready supply of local parts and repair inventory is available to carry out routine maintenance.

Continual product training is provided to ensure all Service Engineers can train end users as required. You will be seen as a go-to person by customers providing customers focused technical service & support for all troubleshooting, faults and repairs. As such clear advanced level of interpersonal skills is a must. You will need the ability to communicate effectively in all forms and provide advice to a diverse range of stakeholders/clients.

You will work within the company’s defined SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) for all service and maintenance activities. Participate in continuous improvement activities to identify and address process and product quality gaps to improve work efficiency. All service work is logged in our ERP and CRM systems. Spectrum Medical is working towards a paperless Service Department.


The ideal candidate would have 1 – 3 years’ experience in field servicing on sophisticated electronic systems, ideally in the medical industry. Previous experience on patient monitors, ventilators or anaesthetic systems would be advantageous. A Biomedical Engineering degree would be beneficial but not mandatory.

The company is looking to pay from £30,000 up to £50,000 depending experience.
