Daily Activities and Responsibilites

  • Compliance with the Responsible Pharmacist requirements
  • Work within Clinical Governance standards & within Information governance standards
  • Keeping up to date with current pharmacy practice, new drugs and their uses and complying with compulsory CDP requirements.
  • Ensure that the correct medication and prescription is given to the patient, confirming the details shown on the prescription form and the label and confirming the dosage instructions where appropriate.
  • Advise patients about pre‐payment certificates and how to apply for exemption Certificates.
  • Collect prescription fees (NHS and private) from patients. Reconcile all monies Received twice daily. Ensure adequate change is available.
  • Liaising with doctors about prescriptions
  • Overview the sale of over‐the‐counter medicines advising patients of any adverse side‐effects of medicines or potential interactions with other medicines/treatments

Distribution Logistics, Wholesale Activities

  • Order stock if requested to do so
  • Ensure incoming stock is stored under appropriate temperature conditions in the appropriate area
  • Check stock and ensure conformity with requirements as listed
  • Pack and store stock awaiting collection under appropriate temperature storage conditions in the appropriate area
  • Monitor and maintain temperatures within the fridge and ambient areas


  • You’ll need to be a fully qualified Pharmacist
  • Registered with the GPhC
  • You’ll provide an outstanding clinical service to our customers
  • You’ll manage the Pharmacy day to day
  • Spot areas in which we can improve our services
  • Responsible for training, coaching and inspiring your colleagues
