I am currently searching for a Senior Development Scientist for a fast growing company in Cambridgeshire

The position of Senior Development Scientist is responsible for leading a development team for IFP lateral flow drugs screening products. All work conducted must be in-line with the companies Quality Management System under ISO13485.

The role of the Senior Development Scientist will be

Regular communications with Development Director

Responsible for delivering groups of projects to agreed timelines.

Leading the design, development and optimisation of immunodiagnostic based assays, assay components, detection substrates, protein conjugates

Developing methods for protein purification and stabilisation.

Working to supervise other members of the development team through a cascade of similar objectives agreed with the line manager.

Must maintain an excellent awareness of assay development, and knowledge of QC, verification and validation testing, manufacturing, ISO 13485 and health and safety.

A high degree of coaching, leadership and troubleshooting activities will be involved.

Implementing third party supplier contracts for critical reagents and writing manufacturing handover documentation.

Responsible for customer pilot projects, proof-of-principle experiments or demonstrations as needed.

Preparation of SOPs, records, published materials, reports, and posters.

Representing the company by attendance at offsite meetings and conferences including presentations.

Experience

Expect significant product development experience in lateral flow immunoassays gained within the regulated immunodiagnostic products industry.

Experience in smaller entrepreneurial ventures highly desirable.

A sound understanding of development, quality systems/ISO 13485,

Verification and validation testing, manufacturing, and regulatory submission requirements along with a minimum of two years’ supervisory experience is very desirable.

Candidates should have a PhD qualification in a biological sciences discipline or equivalent work-based experience in a research environment and ideally at least 8 years’ commercial assay development experience.

This role is offering up to £45,000 + depending experience.
