We are now looking for an experienced registered Mental Health nurse preferably with experience in a Forensic setting and have excellent communication skills along with an understanding of the relevant national policies and frameworks and the Mental Health Act.

We offer services to men suffering from acute periods of mental illness, with a rapid admission response for critical cases and longer term, on-going, low security care for men with behavioural issues, schizophrenia and problems with substance misuse. From the outset, our focus is on reintegration, supporting service users to develop the practical and personal skills they need to leave secure care.

On this Ward, our PICU service, provides assessment and treatment for men who are experiencing an acute period of mental illness. We accept urgent admissions from all over the country and aim to respond to all referrals within one hour of receipt of adequate clinical information.

We will need from you a commitment and drive to provide the highest quality of care. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this post, as you’ll be working within a multidisciplinary team and liaising with a wide variety of people. A knowledge of, and interest in the supervision and appraisal processes is essential, as you will be leading a team of Nurses and Health Care Workers with varying degrees of experience and knowledge.
