Seven Resourcing win three REC Awards

Awards season is officially over for 2022, and it finished in record-breaking style for Seven Resourcing. Shortlisted in two categories at The REC Awards 2022, the team headed down to central London for an action-packed night of awesome entertainment and stunning food in celebration of recruitment’s finest talent.

Organised by the industry’s most recognised governing body, The Recruitment & Employment Confederation, The REC Awards is widely regarded as the UK’s most prestigious recruitment awards ceremony.

From agency to in-house and from start-ups to multinationals, The REC Awards celebrate the best in UK recruitment, showcasing the work of brilliant recruiters from across the industry. The REC’s role is to drive standards and empower recruiters to be brilliant, and the annual REC Awards celebrate those who hit and exceed the standards.

Hosted by The REC’s CEO Neil Cranberry and actress Kerry Godliman, this glitzy, fun-filled evening at the Royal Lancaster Hotel turned out to be truly unforgettable for Seven Resourcing. Despite being shortlisted in two categories, Seven won three awards on the night, including ‘Recruiter of the Year’ – a one-off, special award chosen by the judges.

45 individual and 59 company entries were shortlisted across 21 categories, and The REC Awards 2022 topped off a record-breaking spell for Seven, winning 14 major industry awards in 14 months.

🏆 Business Leader of the Year

This category was aimed at business leaders who have demonstrated excellence in driving their business forward, either through supporting employees or customer service innovation. The judges were looking to hear from leaders who’ve transcended the traditional role of a boss, and leaders who can provide great examples from their staff and/or clients.

We’re proud to announce our Managing Director Richard Cooke was crowned ‘Business Leader of the Year’ after ticking all the boxes set by the 15+ judges. After successfully navigating a global pandemic, investing in his staff more than any other leader in the industry and creating groundbreaking rec-tech that’s revolutionised recruitment – this is well and truly deserved, Rich!

🏆 Best Company to work for (up to 150 employees)

The category title says it all. This award was aimed at larger recruitment agencies that demonstrate unparalleled success in developing their people, employee engagement and recognition. The judges were looking to hear from businesses that put employees at the heart of their business strategy, with an undeniable and demonstrable record of going above and beyond for their people.

With very little time to recover from the celebrations of our first award, the team were quickly back on the stage to receive the trophy for ‘Best Company to work for’ – perfectly reflecting Seven’s unmatched dedication to its employees and workplace environment.

🏆 Recruiter of the Year

Seven were shortlisted in two categories, so to be summoned to the stage for the third time was a complete surprise. ‘The Recruiter of the Year’ award is a special category that cannot be applied for. It’s awarded to the most outstanding recruitment leader and agency of the year, and we are honoured to announce the judges chose Richard Cooke and Seven Resourcing.

Upon reflection of the event and recruitment industry in general, Neil Carberry, Chief Executive of the REC, said:

“Competition for staff in the UK has been a challenge throughout 2022, and skilled recruitment professionals are making a real difference for both the companies and workers they support. In tough times, it is important to celebrate the critical service our recruiters provide to millions of people in the UK every day.

This year’s winners were exceptional, showcasing best-in-class recruitment at a time when it’s needed more than ever. The nominees should also feel immense pride in what they have achieved. Congratulations to everyone involved!”

After winning two individual awards, Richard Cooke, Managing Director of Seven Resourcing, said:

“This is an incredible milestone for Seven and I’m beyond proud of the team. The REC is the voice for our industry, so it doesn’t get much bigger than this. We’ve invested an immense amount of time and capital into creating the most rewarding, progressive, and exciting careers in the industry, so to win ‘Best Company to work for’ is a massive pat on the back to everyone involved in getting us there.

The other two trophies have my name on them, and although this is going to sound horribly cliché, I can’t and won’t take the credit – they were achieved by Seven as a team, not just me.”

Congratulations to all the winners and shortlisted agencies, and thank you to all our clients, candidates, and employees for your constant dedication to building a better recruitment service.
