Seven Resourcing crowned ‘SME of the Year’ at Suffolk Business Awards

After winning four times at the Recruiter Awards, it wasn’t long before Seven Resourcing had its hands on another major award. This time, we were chuffed to be announced as Suffolk’s SME of the Year, beating hundreds of wonderful local companies, spanning across almost every industry imaginable.

Held annually at the stunning Kesgrave Hall, the Suffolk Business Awards bring the county’s business community together to celebrate each other’s achievements and highlight the leaders in each industry. The awards bring Suffolk’s diverse and vibrant business community together to celebrate companies that are truly outstanding in their sector.

10 years ago, in a tiny office based in central Ipswich, Richard Cooke and his team of three started Seven Resourcing. The purpose? To challenge the negative stigma that started to surround the recruitment industry by providing honest and innovative staffing solutions. Fast-forward a decade, and that same company has been named as the county’s best small enterprise.

After back-to-back record years in 2020 and 2021, this award was perfectly timed to celebrate the incredible performances from our team throughout the pandemic. With a monumental investment into employee satisfaction, support and development, as well as a multitude of new tech breakthroughs to boost our customer service offerings, Seven Resourcing has set a new standard in recruitment.

In the category criteria, The Suffolk Business Awards noted ‘The winner of this award will be a company that has shown consistency in their ownership of their market share. They will also show evidence of commitment to its purpose, community, employees, customers as well as the development of products/services.’

A local leading newspaper, The East Anglian Daily Times, quoted “The judging panel was extremely impressed by the company-wide use of technology and innovation at Seven Resourcing. The judges also described the ongoing treatment of employees as first-class and felt that the organisation had fostered an innovative culture, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience whilst also providing excellent employee care.” You can read their full write-up here.

Seven Resourcing’s Director, Richard Cooke, said “It’s always an honour winning awards, but this one feels completely different. This award isn’t just about our recruitment capabilities, it’s about celebrating us as a business. As a team, we’ve achieved incredible things over the last couple of years, all while navigating a global pandemic. Most of the team are from Suffolk, and this is Seven’s home – so to be recognised as one of the leading companies in our county is really special for everyone here”.
