Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Care and Support Assistant to work with Devon County Council’s Shortbreaks Service. This position is full-time and available for an initial 3 month period. The hourly rate on offer will be £11.00 via an umbrella company. This role will be b ased in either Tiverton, Barnstaple, Exeter or Honiton depending on candidates location or preferences.

The role:

The Childrens Homes support children with complex behaviour’s, physical and medical needs line with individual needs and care plans, to enhance and promote the life experiences and independence skills of the young people. This work will take place in a one of the four Children’s Home based in Devon and will include supporting the young person in accessing local facilities. The Homes will be open 52 weeks a year and provide a service in a flexible way based on the needs of the individual young people that access the service. The role of the Care and Support Assistant is to support the young people on a day to day basis. To achieve this she/he will be focusing on working within Ofsted Children’s home regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

      Will support the young person in line with the child’s agreed outcomes five outcomes of Every Child Matters and will be responsible for the care, support and supervision of the young person during their stay in the home in line with their individual profiles and risk assessments. This could include any property or equipment used or accessed.

Will have a person-centred approach when working with the young people on set aims and targets as detailed in their care plans.

Will involve working with young people whose behaviour at times may be challenging and supporting them with their medical needs on a regular basis.

Provide care for young people in accordance with unit policies and procedures and assisting them with day-to-day activities.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Recent DBS check.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
