Childcare Law Manager – Special Advisor

Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Childcare Law Manager to work with the Improvement Team in Exeter, Devon. This position is initially for a period of 9 months and is paying £50.00 – £60.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

In this full time role you would be working closely with the Improvement Manager to achieve progress towards the improvement of the Ofsted rating. The candidate must be able to lead and manage a team of Lawyers, have a solid grasp of data analysis and in depth knowledge of childcare law, practice and procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will lead on all children related legal matters, including reports, ombudsman and data protection, and manage a team of childcare lawyers consisting of solicitors, legal executive/trainee legal executives, and support staff.
  • You will be a highly accomplished and robust litigator and advocate in court, inquiry and tribunal venues, with a positive attitude and a practical approach to legal work.
  • You will also be capable of providing quality advice and assistance at Director and other senior officer level, including strategy and performance, on the children’s agenda.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Must be Law Society admitted and Solicitor Regulatory Authority registered solicitor OR Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives OR Bar Standards Board registered barrister.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
