Seven Social Care is looking for a Children’s Residential Worker to fill an exclusive opportunity specialising in children across Shropshire.

FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED

(Homes are based in – Shrewsbury / Rowton / Baschurch / Bridgnorth / Minsterley / Monkmoor / Longden / Wem / Whitchurch / Shawbury)

Our Shropshire region runs 2 services. Child Sexual Exploitation & Complex Trauma Services (formally Child Sexual Abuse)

In our CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) service we care for girls between the ages of 11 – 17 years who have unfortunately suffered from some form of Sexual Exploitation.

This may be a result of consent to survive, bullying, community gangs, money and gift incentives and/or trauma.

The homes aims to support the young women to develop and maintain positive and safe relationships, improve self-esteem and provide a support network that will assist in reframing and internalizing their history. This in turn will help the young women with a smooth transition into their next placement, whether that is to return home, supported lodgings, semi-independent living or into adult services.

In our Complex Trauma Service we care for children ages 6-12 years old who have suffered some form of Complex Trauma. Everything we do is therapeutic in nature, allowing children to make excellent progress from the day they move in, and prepare them for a successful move to their next onward placement, returning to their family if appropriate or into foster care.

Duties:

– Transporting the children – Making sure the young person in our care has taken all thier medication that day – Helping them access education – Household duties – Paperwork – Days out (social events, shopping, cinema, swimming)

– Contacts, visit, key work meeting and therapy sessions – Offering guidance, support and structure to their everyday lives

Requirements:

Must hold a valid UK Driving licence

NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (CYPW/equivalent) preferred but not essential. All staff members without the qualification will be provided full training towards their Level 3 after a successful probationary period.
