Childrens Residential Worker (Nights)

Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Childrens Residential Worker to work with a short breaks service in Stafford. This position is initially for 6 weeks and involves working 21:00 – 7:00. The hourly rate is £13.60 (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

To work in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Children & Lifelong Learning Directorate, the Children and Young People’s Plan, and the Directorate Improvement Plan and other related strategies and the principles of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations 2001 and Care Matters: Transforming the Lives of Children and Young People in Care.

Key Responsibilities:

      To play a lead role in the shift planning process and to ensure that this is clearly documented.

To take an active and responsible role in the overall development of the home and services available to young people.

To provide support and care to young people resident in the home. To fulfil key worker responsibilities as laid out in the National Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes 2002 and Children’s Home Regulations 2001.

To undertake flexible and imaginative approaches in offering support to young people, as appropriate and consistent with the home’s Statement of Purpose.

To plan and encourage the young people to engage in residents meetings, consult with them and involve them in the day to day running of the home. To promote children’s rights at all times.

To attend and make a positive contribution to staff meetings, training sessions, supervision and Personal Performance Reviews and with appropriate training and experience, take an active role in the induction, Personal Performance Reviews and supervision of colleagues.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young Person.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 30 hours p/w.
