DEPARTMENT / DIRECTORATE: TRUSTWIDE, WOMEN & CHILDREN’S DIRECTORATE

LOCATION: WESTERN TRUST AREA

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

SECTION 1: The following are ESSENTIAL criteria which will be measured at shortlisting stage and may be further explored at the interview / selection stage. You should therefore make it clear on your application form you how meet the following criteria. Failure to do so may result in you not being shortlisted.

Experience

2 years administrative/ clerical experience *The above educational criteria will be waived for candidates who have a disability as defined under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. These candidates will automatically be shortlisted but will be required, together with all other shortlisted candidates, to undertake the range of aptitude tests

 

Qualifications/ Registration

5 GCSE’s (Grades A-C) including English Language or equivalent or higher educational standard*

Other

Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post

SECTION 2 : The following are ESSENTIAL criteria which will be measured during the interview/ selection stage:

Skills / Abilities

Good organisational / time management skills

Evidence of ability to work on own initiative

Evidence of flexibility

Evidence of ability to plan effectively to meet deadlines

Evidence of ability to maintain and respect confidentiality

Good oral and written communication skills

Evidence of ability to work as part of a team

Knowledge

Knowledge of Western Trust

Knowledge of computer packages (E.g. MS Office, Email etc)

Knowledge of office procedures

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Qualifications

OCR Stage II Text Processing (Part 1) and Stage II Word Processing (Part 2) or equivalent
