Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Housing Solutions Officer to work in Ipswich. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £19.93 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

Key Responsibilities:

      Provide advice and take positive action to prevent homelessness wherever possible using a range of methods.

Manage a busy caseload of clients who have a housing crisis and provide written correspondence to households on the advice given through a personal housing plan and ensure comprehensive information is provided on the options available to them and the steps they and you will take to prevent homelessness.

Motivate and empower clients to meet the steps set out in their personal housing plan in order to relieve the homelessness crisis.

Use professional judgement and expertise to interpret the relevant legislation, Code of Guidance and Case Law to make detailed decisions.

Ensure that temporary accommodation is provided when required, whilst reducing the reliance on Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

Maintain an up to date, comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and case law

Develop cooperative working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies such as supported housing providers, social workers, probation officers and the Citizens Advice Bureau

Record statistics relating to homelessness

Build a comprehensive understanding of the private rented market and develop positive links with landlords and agents in order to maximise the housing options for homeless households

Contribute to the development of a Homelessness Strategy

Collaborate with the Financial Inclusion Unit and other cross-functional projects to ensure that corporate objectives are met and delivered

Be available, along with other members of the team to take emergency calls outside office hours.

Any other duties of a similar nature which may be required.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and references covering the past 3 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
