Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Physiotherapist work in Merton. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £40.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a range of settings. They will manage a caseload of Adults with Learning Disabilities in a range of environments to develop and deliver quality rehabilitation service to people presenting with acute and chronic problems across a wide range of conditions i.e. mobility-movement, obesity, posture, orthopaedic, dysphagia, respiratory, post-surgery etc.

The Merton Team for People with Learning Disabilities (MTPLD) is a health and social services team for adults with learning disabilities who live in or originate from the London Borough of Merton. We use a person centred approach to promote a good quality of life for people through using services in their local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

      To take lead role in as a sole clinician in the assessment and treatment of people with rehabilitation needs who present complex physical and psychological conditions.

To have responsibility for developing and delivering an individual treatment plan.

To be responsible for own caseload and all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To provide advice on specialised physiotherapy treatment plan for service users e.g. postural management 24 hrs programme, eating and drinking programme, advice on specialist seating and to be consulted by other team members and health care professionals.

To evaluate client intervention and rehabilitation progress using appropriate outcome measure and evaluation tools.

To be responsible for a defined area of the service working without direct supervision.

To work closely and liaise with other services to ensure smooth continuity of care for people with a learning disability.

To work closely with clients, carers and families, demonstrating empathy and forming productive relationships and agreeing decision making relevant to the patient/client management.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 35 hours p/w.
