What we need
3 experienced Social Workers able to practice statutory child care social work to a high standard and within a relationship based approach to join the existing team of 3 permanently employed Social Workers.
A proven track record of high quality Social Work with children including Child Protection, Children in Need, Looked After Children and Court work and be able to work at pace with complex case work.
Reinvigorating Social Work (RSW) is an exciting workforce development aimed at social workers and team managers in Dorset Children’s Services.
RSW will help give social workers the time, space and support they need to improve outcomes for children first time around and there is a clear focus on relationship based practice.
It is funded by the Department for Education’s children’s Social Care Innovation Fund, which aims to develop best practice and boost the quality of support for children across the country. It is part of the Government’s ‘Putting children first’ policy that was produced in 2016.
Every permanently employed social worker and team manager will take part in a programme of group-work over a period of three months or so.
It is vital that we minimise change and disruption to the families receiving our support. A significant part of the funding is being used to create a dedicated social work team who will provide additional capacity for teams who have social workers on the programme. We anticipate that they will take on the equivalent of up to one third of an individual social worker’s workload and will also provide coaching and support around areas of practice development.
Pay Rate £33-£35PH
Start Date – 12th Feb
