Seven Resourcing are currently looking for a temporary School Improvement Officer to work with Swindon Borough Council. This position is initially for a period of 2 months and is paying from £22.00 – £27.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

This role will work within Children’s Services as part of a team to deliver the Education Strategy and Education Improvement Policy. It will have a key role in delivering our priority to improve educational outcomes for children and young people. The role will work with education settings, Council teams and other stakeholders including Ofsted and the DfE to enable a system leadership approach to educational improvement. The role will lead on the work specifically in secondary, alternative provision and post 16 settings.

Key Responsibilities:

      To work with education leaders, Council teams and Ofsted to ensure the best possible standards of education for children and young people.

To take a lead role in implementing the Swindon Education Strategy and School Improvement Policy with an agreed set of education settings.

To ensure an up to date analysis of school outcomes and risks in relation to all children and young people across the education settings and especially for those deemed vulnerable.

To work with education settings to broker and signpost to organisations offering support, building capacity across the range of settings.

To work with teams across children’s services and the wider council to ensure an integrated approach to improving outcomes for children and young people

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree level or equivalent management qualification or previous relevant experience.
  • Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience in a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
