Senior Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care

Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Senior Occupational Therapist to work with the Adult Social Care Team in Portsmouth. This position is initially for a period of 4 months and is paying £28 – £30 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

The unit provides an interim placement to support hospital discharge and has been commissioned to support Portsmouth City Council’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing isolation beds and Discharge to Assess (D2A) beds for people prior to them moving on to their long term placement whether it be at home or in care home.

Key Responsibilities:

      Assess a client’s needs in order to enable a safe discharge and identify the need for further interventions.

Ensure clients remain functionally optimised whilst on the unit

Establish moving and handling care plans and support care staff to facilitate these.

Understand the clients usual daily routine, establish their current functional baseline and provide occupational engagement in order to improve and maintain functional ability

Establish the need for, and arrange, the provision of any equipment or adaptations required to enable a safe discharge

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
