Senior Social Worker, Children with Disabilities Team

This is a good time to join a dedicated team for disabled children as there have been many new and innovative developments in practice, including the introduction of personal budgets and Education, Health and Care plans. We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Senior Social Worker with a broad knowledge of social work practice and legislation, including safeguarding, who is able to demonstrate excellent assessment and analysis skills. You will be committed to using the full range of your social work skills to promote and safeguard the welfare and development of disabled children and assist their carers (including young carers) by means of creative, innovative and timely support (care) planning and intervention.

 

About the role:

  • You will be committed to using the full range of your social work skills to promote and safeguard the welfare and development of disabled children and assist their carers (including young carers) by means of creative, innovative and timely support (care) planning and intervention.
  • You’ll support alternative permanent care for children who have to be separated from their families in a timely fashion.
  • Supervise fostering / adoption arrangements.
  • In this role you will have the opportunity to supervise less experienced members of staff within the team and support their development. In return for all of your skills, enthusiasm and commitment we will support you to take your career to the next level.

Requirements of a Social Worker:

  • That you are a qualified Social Worker with HCPC and have a social work degree or recognised equivalent qualification.
  • A broad knowledge of social work practice and legislation, including safeguarding.
  • An ability to demonstrate excellent assessment and analysis skills.
  • A current UK driving licence and car with the ability to travel around the county
