Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Senior Social Worker to work in Norfolk County Council’s Looked After Childrens Team. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £32.00 per hour.

The role:

To provide outstanding services to children in need or at risk of harm and their families living in Norfolk, to bring about life long change and improved outcomes. To ensure children and young people are adequately protected in line with the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) and departmental policy and procedures and relevant legislation.

To deliver high quality social work practice and utilise specialist knowledge to carry out in depth family assessment of social need and risk to children. To hold a caseload of the most complex cases. To lead child centred assessments using professional curiosity, which involve key family members, professionals and consider each child’s identity, experiences, and social circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

      To manage a caseload of the most complex work promoting high quality assessments and interventions to bring about positive change through developing effective relationships, ensuring that the voice of the child is the focus of case recording and the planning of interventions.

Coordinate and review planned interventions to ensure that the best outcomes are being achieved for children and young people. To utilise evidence informed practice to support multiagency decision making and acting without delay to ensure children and young people are safe and their needs are met. To contribute to the management of the team by participating in key planning and decision making, providing professional supervision, contributing to appraisals, identifying training needs, delivering training, and deputising for the Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager in the delivery and/or allocation of case work as required. To investigate complaints and produce reports and recommendations for follow up action.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by Social Work England.
  • Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
  • Compliance: Up to date SWE registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
