Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary Team Manager to work with Cardiff Council’s Youth Justice Team. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and will be paying £40.00 per hour via an umbrella company.

The role:

Cardiff Youth Justice Service is looking for a dedicated social work or equivalent, professionally qualified Team Manager on an interim basis pending a service restructure. As an experienced Team Manager you will be responsible for the direct line management of a team who work with young people at risk of, or involved in, the criminal justice system. You will be able to offer guidance and support to staff as well as review and quality check their work.

Key Responsibilities:

      Ability to lead and motivate a team to meet objectives, in a supportive way

Ability to organise self and others in order to prioritise work and achieve targets

Self motivated and able to work on own initiative

Comprehensive understanding of, and ability to work within, the legislative and policy framework relating to children in need, children at risk and children being looked after

Understanding of and commitment to the application of Health & Safety policies and procedures

Understanding of the importance of management information in the monitoring, planning and review of services

Good grasp of performance monitoring and the ability to implement information collection against Performance Indicators

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with service users, staff, managers, other agencies and public

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by Social Work England or Care Council for Wales.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
